Quick answers to the things that most often go wrong — or just aren’t obvious — on Call1v1. If your question isn’t here, see how to contact us.
Getting started
Do I need to create an account?
No. When you open Call1v1 a guest account is created for you automatically, so you can start calling right away. A guest account lives in your browser, though: if you clear your browser data or switch devices, you may not be able to get back into it. Add an email address to your account to keep it.
Can I choose who I call?
Yes, two ways. Tap Start for a random video call with whoever’s free right now, or open the online list and call someone directly from their profile — see video call with girls for how that works.
Which browsers work?
Recent versions of Chrome, Safari, Edge and Firefox, on iPhone, Android and desktop. On iPhone, Safari is the most reliable choice. In-app browsers (the one that opens when you tap a link inside a social app) often block the camera — open call1v1.com in your normal browser instead.
Can I add Call1v1 to my home screen?
Yes. On iPhone, tap Share in Safari and choose Add to Home Screen. On Android, use the install prompt or Add to Home screen from Chrome’s menu. It then opens full-screen with its own icon.
Camera, microphone and connection
The other person can’t see or hear me
- Check that you allowed camera and microphone access when your browser asked.
- If you blocked it by accident, open your browser’s site settings for call1v1.com, allow both, and reload the page.
- Close other apps or tabs that might be using the camera, such as another video call.
- On iPhone, also check Settings › Safari › Camera and Microphone.
The video freezes or the call drops
Video calls need a steady connection in both directions. Move closer to your Wi-Fi router or switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data, and close downloads or streams running in the background. If the other person’s connection is weak, there’s not much either of you can do — try a voice call, which needs much less bandwidth.
I only want to use my microphone
Choose a voice match: only your microphone is used. During a video call you can also switch your camera off at any time.
Coins and purchases
What are coins for?
New users get free matches to try Call1v1. After that, calls use coins. You can check your balance and top up in your wallet. Wondering how that compares with apps that promise “unlimited free” calls? Read are free video call apps really free?
I paid but my coins didn’t arrive
Payments usually go through within a few minutes. Reload the app and check your purchase history in your profile. If the coins still aren’t there, keep your payment receipt and contact us with the date, amount and the email used for payment — we’ll look it up.
Can I get a refund?
See our Coins & Refund Policy for exactly when refunds are possible.
Your account
How do I change my name, photo or bio?
Open your profile and edit the field you want. Changes show up on your profile straight away.
How do I find someone I talked to?
Your call history lists everyone you’ve been on a call with. Follow people you’d like to talk to again; when they’re online you can call them straight from their profile.
How do I delete my account?
Send a request through the contact options from the account you want deleted. Unused coins are lost when an account is deleted.
